A trip to Udvar-Hazy

25 03 2008

A few weeks ago, my parents took the whole family and me to the National Air and Space Museum’s Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center next to Washington-Dulles International Airport in Dulles, Virginia.

This was my very first trip to the museum and it certainly will not be my last. I’ll have to go back without the family some time and just take my time looking around.

The Udvar-Hazy Center is home to The Concorde, The Enola Gay, The Space Shuttle (Enterprise) and more. I originally saw The Enterprise at Kennedy Space Center when I was about nine or ten years old. My son will be seven in July. Wow! Almost 30 years later I got to show my son the Space Shuttle. When we went to the gift shop, he picked up a toy space shuttle, which was the exact same model I owned when I was his age.

Here are a few photos from the day:

23 03 2008

Saturday night is bath night here at the Jacob house.  After the bath is over, the girls get a little help with their hair before bedtime:

This was posted to Improve Everywhere and I just had to share this. 207 people “frozen” at Grand Central Station in New York City.
