Okay, you know those disclaimers that always say, “No …… were harmed in the making of this movie”?? Well, here’s my disclaimer: DRESSES WERE TRASHED IN THE MAKING OF THIS BLOG!
It was a blast hanging out yesterday with Sandy, Natalie, and Amanda and Sean, Sean, and Sean! Yep, all three girls have husbands named “Sean”! How random is that? I was also joined by my photographer friends: Corbin Harris, Bob Decker, Heather Clarke, and Matt Reeves.
Thank you to Sarah Simmons and WTTG Fox 5 News for coming out with us. You can see the story here.
We started off the morning by meeting everyone in front of Union Station in Washington, DC. Sandy and Sean were the first to arrive and we wasted no time in warming up the cameras. After a few shots in front of Union Station we decided to move across the street, heading toward The US Capitol. We found plenty to do around the Capitol grounds and gradually moved towards a fountain to get the girls wet. (See one of the resulting shots below). We were amazed that we didn’t draw the attention of the police and get kicked out or even worse, get arrested! A few tourists started gathering and after we left the fountain, the tourists decided they had to get in the fountain too.
Next, we headed across the street to The Dubliner to get something to eat while we waited for Fox 5 to catch up with us. Thank you to the fine folks at The Dubliner for putting up with us!
We did some shooting in and around The Dubliner. The dumpster and alley shots are from an alley nearby.
Fox 5 wanted to see the girls get their dresses wet, so we headed back to the fountain in front of The Capitol and played in the fountain again and we still didn’t get arrested!
After Fox 5 left the girls decided they wanted to go to a cemetery. We went into Virginia and visited the Mount Zion Historic Church in Loudoun County.
We wrapped up our Trash the Dress Adventure by playing in Little River (which is more of a creek) near the Aldie Mill in Aldie, VA.
A few people have already been asking to see some photos, so here are some teasers. You can see some more in the archive.
